Collie Buddz and Jah Cure at Cup Match Summer Splash

Review by Terri Collie Buddz and Jah Cure at Cup Match Summer Splash

Honestly, there is nothing like Cup Match time in Bermuda. From the island being divided by colour lines of red/blue and blue/blue to family member disowning some of their own in the name of their team. This is the best time of the year to be on the island of Bermuda.

Whether you are returning from staying abroad. You are a local who has been counting down since last year. Kicking off Cup Match week with the Summer Splash 2016 concert is one of the best ways to do it. Local DJs entertained the crowd throughout the evening as concert goers prepared for the main acts to hit the stage. Upon arrival, you could hear the vibes as you queued up in the line. Setting the vibes from early.

After a 4 year gap since his last on island performance, Bermuda’s own Collie Buddz dawned his Cup Match colours in support of Somerset and had the crowd rocking to his selection of hits. The hometown hero ended his set with his first international single, Mamacita. Jamaican singjay, Jah Cure, who is for BOTH St. George’s and Somerset, serenaded the crowd, specifically the ladies, with hits singles such as Unconditional Love. He even took off his shirt during his encore performance to give the ladies a closer look at his body!

For those that missed the first part of Cup Match Summer Splash 2016. For those who are deciding if they will come out for the second part. Watch this recap video. Whatever you do this Cup Match season, be safe and responsible as you remember the reason why we have Cup Match.
