Bermudians featured in NYLON Magazine
Ay buh
Bermudian fashion powerhouse Shiona Turini is back at it again and this time she brings de glam to de pinks sands.
It’s not exactly de the first time Shiona and Meredith Andrews linked up to collaborate, but it is de first time Meredith has seen Shiona orchestrate behind the lens in all her artistic composure. Now we lot on de rock stay reading de blogs about the current freelance stylist, but to have a MASSIVE magazine come to the island and utilize EVERYTHING local is def wha we think as a come up. Checking in with Aunty Shi about it all, she agrees that being able to work with such a major magazine on the island is a blessing. Continuing, she says “It’s rare for Bermuda to be given this type of exposure without us collectively MAKING the opportunity happen for ourselves. I love being able to come home and give my island, my people exposure”
Guess what? We love it too! And we hope it happens more so we can all build together and show what this 24 mile piece of beauty is capable of.
We spoke to a few of those involved individually about the day and as much as they all stressed about stress (lol), they all in their own words recognized how much each of them hustled. They understood there was a bigger picture in play and they got a little piece of it, recognizing who they were shooting or, the calibre it came with, and raising the bar- all while looking fine af in Gucci and Moschino. Excuse us…
Now if you byes dunno who exactly “Nylon” is, it’s very similar in ways to Bermemes (but bigger, like way bigger) - Nylon Magazine is a media publisher that focuses on pop culture and fashion that has a large circulation and a even bigger social media presence with millions of subscribers worldwide.
Even with the weather against them and a very very small window to shoot, you saw commitment to the vision and it came out criss. Like always, we lot are looking forward to de next project, wherever you are in de world Aunty Shi!
