Slave House turned into a Bermudian Mosque
While everyone was prepping for May 24th holiday, Bermuda had a unique visitor that seemingly visited under the radar of the media here. A verified Islamic Theologian and scholar, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi
did, (in his words) were not planning a recording, but uploaded this recent vlog to over 60,000 subscribers that lead to plenty conversation in his medium about Bermuda and here history.

"During my recent visit to the beautiful island of Bermuda, I was blessed to visit one of the local mosques, an old structure that dates back to the 1700s (although it was only converted to a masjid around a decade ago). What really amazed me was that, centuries ago, this masjid used to be a place that housed over a hundred slaves, but today it houses the worshippers of Allah." - Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi
Who is Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi?
Shaykh Yasir is the Dean of Academic Affairs at AlMaghrib Institute. He is also one of the founders of MuslimMatters.org, a premier online blog about Islam and Muslims.
Currently, he is a professor at Rhodes College, in Memphis, TN, and the resident scholar of the Memphis Islamic Center. He resides in Memphis with his wife and four children.
