Taylor Rankin x Qianemon Violin Freestyle

So somedin criss happened yesterday. One of our aceboys we meant a while back through Chewstick hit us up from Tel Aviv and was “Ay Don, guy needa link cuz umma be in Bermy!” and guyz just had to check ya boy, and by ya boy, we mean Taylor Rankin…

Now some you lot may not know Taylor like we do, but those that do know de guy is like hot wild tabasco sauce wif the violin but ay… lemme let Vybez tell you bout it.

I remember being about 12 years old and my Suzuki violin teacher at that time Joan Stewart mentioned Taylor, who was about 6 years old and was already an incredible violinist…

Fast forward about 20 years, I see Taylor at the former Wine Cellar Nightclub and he’s improvising insanely over anything that the DJ’s playing….

Fast forward again, we bump into each other at Rock Island.  We sit off and he pulls out a demo of some stuff that he was working on including a track called ’Yummy’.  The concept, visuals and the song itself blew my mind…

Final fast forward once more - It’s 2015 and Taylor is now touring around the world.  This is the first time having the opportunity to link up at Hamilton Princess and run a quick in-the-middle-of-his-soundcheck freestyle. Twas a wicked experience and I look forward to to seeing him and his violin “Leroy” perform at LeroyFest*.

Check it out and If you go expecting a great violinist, you’ll be disappointed in yourself because he’s so much more.  He’s a musical genius.
